How do I register for Toronto Carnival?
To participate in the parade, you need to sign up with a band and purchase a costume from a Mas Band. It’s easy to do, just visit our website sunlime.ca and select the section you want to play in. A deposit is required to secure your spot, with the balance due on pick-up day. Learn more about how to register for the 2023 Toronto Carnival parade here.
How do I purchase a costume?
After our Costume Showcase (Band Launch) on April 2nd, registration for each section will open up online through our website sunlime.ca. Once you’ve chosen your costume, a deposit is required to secure your spot and pay the rest on pick-up day during the week of Toronto carnival.
When is the parade?
The 2023 Toronto Carnival Parade takes place on August 5th, so mark your calendars and get ready for an unforgettable experience!
Do you offer group discounts?
Yes, discounts are usually extended to groups of 5 or more, depending on the Section Leader. Get in touch with the Section Leader from the section you’re interested in playing with for more information.
How do I collect my costume? Will you ship my costume to me?
Costumes must be picked up in person at our Mas Camp located at 25 Waterman Ave. Unit 21 East York Toronto, 2-3 weeks prior to the parade. Follow us on Instagram for the latest pick-up dates and times. Unfortunately, we do not offer shipping for costumes at this time.
What’s included in my costume purchase?
Your costume purchase includes the costume of your choice, a wristband for parade route access, food and drinks on parade day, a stellar DJ lineup, security, and other goodies to ensure an incredible experience.
Do you offer packages for flights, hotel, costumes and tickets?
Unfortunately, we do not offer packages for flights, hotels, costumes, and tickets. We highly recommend booking each of those services separately for the best experience. Book your hotel directly through the hotel, purchase your costume directly from Sunlime Mas, and party tickets through Ticketgateway.com.
When should I fly in?
We recommend arriving as early as August 2nd to give yourself time to pick up your costume and get ready for the festivities.
Where’s the best area to stay?
The best area to stay in depends on the experience you’re looking for. If you want to be close to the action, downtown Toronto is the best choice, as the parade and other cultural events take place there. Mississauga is a great option if you’re looking to save money and avoid the chaos of downtown. Pickering & Ajax in Durham Region is also an affordable option with easy access to the parade route and downtown Toronto for parties and events.
What’s the best way to get around Toronto?
The TTC public transportation system is an easy way to get around the city, and Uber is also available. We do not recommend driving to the parade, as traffic can be overwhelming. Take TTC or an Uber to Exhibition Place instead.
